Emerson Legacy Endowment serves low-income and disabled seniors through targeted grants to Central Kentucky nonprofits

Our Mission

Emerson Legacy Endowment exists to improve the quality of life for low-income or disabled seniors in Central Kentucky by supporting nonprofit organizations that provide essential services, enhance independence, and foster dignity, security, and connection in later life.

Funding Priorities

We fund organizations and programs that:

Meet Basic Needs – Access to food, safe housing, transportation, and healthcare.

Promote Health & Wellbeing – Physical and mental health services, fall prevention, chronic disease management, and wellness programs.

Reduce Isolation – Social connection initiatives, volunteer support, and intergenerational engagement.

Support Aging in Place – Home modifications, accessibility improvements, and in-home assistance that allow seniors to remain in their communities.

We prioritize programs with proven impact, strong community partnerships, and a commitment to serving seniors with compassion and respect.

Values

Dignity – Every senior deserves to be treated with respect and humanity.

Equity and nondiscrimination – Resources should reach those with the greatest need without regard to race, profession of belief, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation.

Collaboration – We work with community organizations to create lasting change.

Accountability – We fund programs with transparent operations and measurable results.

Compassion – We recognize the unique challenges faced by seniors and respond with empathy and care.
